Why people call us for it
Chain link solves three problems better than anything else
It is woven steel mesh pulled tight between round posts. Nothing to warp, nothing to repaint, nothing to replace board by board. Here is when it is the right call.
A dog that gets out
Mesh at 4 or 5 feet, pulled properly tight, with a tension wire along the bottom and a gate that latches. The problem is fixed the day we finish. Nothing to nail back on in the spring.
A large lot to enclose
On a long perimeter, wood and vinyl add up fast. Chain link covers the same distance for less, and it does not sag or twist in the sun.
A commercial yard or site
You need a clear, solid boundary up quickly. Chain link is the standard choice for storage yards, parking lots, equipment compounds and job sites.
Chain link also goes up faster than the other fence types we install. We anchor the posts below the frost line, hang the mesh, pull it tight, and the yard is closed. The ground freezes here in late fall, so an early request gives you the best choice of dates.
What you get
The material, the height and the options
You choose all of it with us during the site visit, and all of it is written into the quote before anything is ordered.
Galvanized or black
Galvanized is the classic silver finish, zinc coated against rust. Black is vinyl coated mesh with posts and rails to match. Black disappears into a yard. From the kitchen window you mostly see through it instead of at it.
Heights we install
4 foot, 5 foot and 6 foot in residential yards. Taller on commercial sites when the use calls for it. We confirm what is allowed at your address before we order material.
Privacy slats
Vinyl slats woven vertically through the mesh. They block the view without blocking the wind, they come in several colours, and they can be added later to a fence that is already standing.
Gates
Single, double, or a sliding gate for vehicle access. Steel tube frame, galvanized hardware, and the clearance set so the gate still swings in January.
What is included
Posts anchored below the frost line, corner and terminal posts, top rail, tension bars and tension wire, ties, full tensioning of the mesh, and the yard cleaned up at the end.
Sloped ground
Chain link follows the natural grade. It does not leave the stepped gaps at the bottom that a pre built panel leaves on a slope. On a hilly lot with a dog, that difference matters.
By-laws, confirmed first
Fence by-laws differ between Quebec and Ontario, and between municipalities. We confirm the rules that apply to your address before we start.
The old fence
If you are replacing, we take the old fence out, posts and concrete included. It is priced on its own line so you can see exactly what that part costs.
The price
Why we do not publish a price per foot
A range you find online knows nothing about your yard. We would rather come out, measure, and hand you a firm number you can actually use.
What moves it most
Total length, the height you pick, and how many gates. A gate always costs more than a run of fence the same width, because it has a frame, hinges and a latch.
What moves it next
Galvanized or black. Slats or no slats. The slope, rock in the ground, how easily we can get equipment into the back yard, and whether an old fence has to come out.
What costs nothing
The visit, the measuring and the written quote. You get a firm price, itemized line by line, with nothing to sign that day.
After the install
Warranty and financing
5 year warranty on the installation
In writing, in the quote. It covers the installation itself: the posts, the alignment, the hardware and the workmanship. A post that shifts or a gate that stops closing properly brings us back.
What it does not cover
Impact damage, exceptional storms, and changes made by someone else. You are told that up front, in plain words, not in small print at the bottom of a page.
Financing available
A fence lasts decades. You do not have to pay for all of it at once. Ask us about the terms during the visit and we will walk you through them before you decide.
Served in English
The whole crew works in both languages, on both sides of the river. English from the first phone call to the last gate adjustment.
