Why Clôtures DKA

What still holds up after a few winters

5 year warranty on the installation

In writing. It covers the installation itself: the posts, the alignment, the hardware and the workmanship. Impact damage, exceptional storms and changes made by someone else are not covered.

Posts anchored below the frost line

This is the real reason a fence starts to lean here. A post set too shallow lifts with the frost every winter and never settles all the way back. We do not cut corners on that part.

Service in English and French

The whole crew is bilingual. You are served in your language, from the first visit to the last adjustment, on both sides of the river.

Financing available

A fence is a project that lasts decades. You do not have to pay for all of it at once. Ask us about the terms during the visit.

Common questions

What people ask us most

Do I need a permit for a fence in Gatineau or Ottawa?
For an ordinary residential fence in Gatineau, no. The City of Gatineau requires no permit. The exception is a fence enclosing a pool: that one does need a permit, which is the opposite of what most people expect. Gatineau's maximum heights are 1.2 m in the front yard, 1.5 m in a side yard next to a street, and 2 m in a side yard away from the street and in the back yard. The fence also has to sit at least 1 m from a sidewalk, or 1.5 m from a street curb where there is no sidewalk. Ottawa sets its own rules, so we confirm what applies at your address during the site visit, before any material is ordered. City of Gatineau municipal by-laws. See the by-laws. Verified 3 August 2026.
Do you work on the Ottawa side?
Yes, both sides of the river. The crew is bilingual and works in English on the Ontario side. Fence by-laws differ between Quebec and Ontario, and between municipalities. We confirm the rules that apply to your address before we start.
What does a fence cost?
It comes down to three things: the length, the material and the number of gates. The ground matters too, since a slope or rocky soil means more digging. That is exactly why the visit and the quote are free. We measure, we look at the site, and you get a firm written price instead of a range that means nothing.
What does the 5 year warranty cover?
It covers the installation: the posts, the alignment, the hardware and the workmanship, for 5 years. It does not cover impact damage, exceptional storms, or changes made by someone else. All of it is written in the quote, not buried in fine print.
What is the best time of year?
Spring through late fall, as long as the ground is not frozen. Spring is the busiest stretch, so asking early gives you more choice of dates. Fall is often the easiest time to get an installation booked quickly.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, financing is available. A fence is a project that lasts decades, so you do not have to pay for all of it at once. Ask us during the visit and we go through the terms with you before you decide anything.
